Being from Alaska we are familiar with the need to have bear spray with us while being in bear country for our personal safety. We also like the idea of

having a legal way of protecting ourselves in any type of situation and any area that we find ourselves in. Most of us motorhomers pack a gun for protection, but when traveling to our Canadian and Mexico neighbors, that is not possible because guns are not legal. Pepper spray, if properly labeled as "Bear Spray," AND has a picture of a bear on the label, is allowed.

After researching and testing we believe that the UDAP spray is the best bear spray out there, and able to ward off any threatening "critter," animal or human.

We keep a can of this bear spray mounted next to our motorhome door and know how to use it. If there is an intruder or confrontation we are prepared.

One of the good things about this bear spray is that it can be used up to 50 feet away. (the large can size) Believe me I do not

want to wait for an attacker to be in my face before defending myself. Just holding the can sends a message to potential threats that I am not a helpless prey.

The UDAP web site is full of useful information about being safe in bear country, as well as good instructions on how to use their product. The owner of the UDAP bear spray corp produced this bear spray after he was attacked by a Grizzly bear and he has appeared on many national television shows with his story of survival and instruction on wilderness safety. This product can even be used against rattlesnakes, which if needed, is better, we think, than hacking the snake to pieces and killing it. We also enjoy viewing bears, and don't want to see them killed. Ditto, full of themselves teenagers with no respect for elders.

So we say it is better to be safe than sorry, and peace of mind, especially on the road, is as valuable as gold. We also believe that if you will feel safer by protection available, so you will not emit fear, which we think animals can smell and that humans can sense on some level.
