I am not mocking that sort of journey. What we began to wonder is if our fellow vagabonds were seeing, and appreciating, what we were experiencing.
To many people the vastness, the barrenness, of Nevada is something to be endured. Or, a casino comedians joke. Not the stuff tourists are interested in searching for. Far better to fly miles above on their way to
what.?
This is the question we were asking ourselves last night, some might say, entertaining ourselves in nowhere land.
The answer is complicated.
It may be that we have reached a new plateau in tourism.
Ever traveling on to find what we already knew, but could not see, for a lack of wisdom.
The answer is simple.
It is about connectivity! Being a part of this world as it turns. I first experienced desert at age 16, in 1955, by being part of the last of the great gold rushes, to Moab, Utah, though the metal of wealth was uranium. The keyword here was adventure.
