Motorhoming and Global Warming — page 6

Why Is "Our" Government Even Listening To Them?

I
f it is a matter of, as often stated, motorhome users are paying their own way, to balance price gouging by private parks outside the National Forest. Fine! We will. We have even put up with the USFS delegating campground operations to Sierra Club approved private  “Forest (done right) Management Experts,” where the price to motorhomers has doubled, with less service.

Most of us full-time motorhomers are of a minority age group that paid dearly for being an American, who at least showed up for National Guard meetings.  We resent that our "half price" Golden Age Passport is worthless after a season is supposedly over (September?), to access a campground where we used to camp for free. We also paid the price trusting the SEC and financial advice from accountants, both supposedly taking care of our retirement, by buying into “rock solid” energy stocks, as Enron. We also saw where our tax dollars went with FEMA, with the consequences that we don’t trust any federal agency, anymore, to be on our side. What about Social Security, you ask? They can't seem to find the Self-Employment statements I filed on some of my better earning years.

So, to my point — what does the Sierra Club have to do with motorhoming?  Aside from working to diminish the supply of RV campsites in “their” national forest, I am wondering what this organization is up to now.  The PAC organization made headlines a week ago claiming that,  “FEMA emergency housing trailers were unsafe, for continuous habitation, due to formaldehyde concerns!"

Besides screaming at the TV, “What business is it of yours?” I now  —as a person that paid big money to buy my own FEMA style, but self-propelled, trailer— once again have questions in return of the Sierra Club:

Are you trying to in a subtle, yet friendly way, to point out the truth to full time motorhome users —as many lawyer approved owner manuals that you don’t get to see until after delivery of what you have paid for, and quoting from the one that came with our Jayco unit— state: “Your new motorhome has been built for enjoyment in a recreational manner and IS NOT INTENDED FOR USE AS FULL TIME QUARTERS, as blah blah blah... accelerated wear... may void applicable warranties?”  Ouch! Did my RV salesman fail to inform me of a long-term health hazard, also?

Or, more likely, following the money, as history has shown, Sierra Club concerns most benefit laywers creating employment for other lawyers. Is this the first round in a money-making class action battle that will —as happened to Super Cub bush pilots in Alaska— totally destroy the motorhome industry, thus eliminating any need to chase us out of our natural home — publicly owned lands.
