Motorhome Blog - general information about the RV lifestyle — page 1 of 6 |

Time to tick a lot of RV "professionals" off, one more time!
I guess I haven’t been too kind in the past to those in the motorhome manufacturing marketplace manning the toll booths, extracting dollars from those of us that actually want to live the dream of the open road advertised in those expensive full color “dead tree” magazines one finds in super-market newsstands. Perhaps the problem is that my “pre-war” generation was raised to read to entertain ourselves, instead of being set in front of a TV set in wet diapers learning to distrust talking heads and their fine print disclaimers. We especially don't like being "owned" by high-paid corporate pitch-men. I like to read when gathering useful information, but in eight years searching for the freedom to wonder, we have learned that the “industry” is somehow on a different page. I think this began with lawyers taking over the writing of user manuals —that you don’t get to read until after the sale— that abrogate owners warranty rights. As, Jayco’s explaining away their “bumper to bumper warranty” on a vehicle that has no bumpers. I would also like to know who was the CEO to led workmen away from Total Quality Management? |
